EDUCATIONAL WEB TOOLS FOR GRADUATE SCHOOLS
Really? That Many of My Colleagues are using Social Media in their Teaching?
Personally, I find it a bit hard to believe that the numbers are that high. And, unfortunately, the source of the data, while indicated, cannot be inspected!
I think it depends on how one defines social media. Is using material (text or graphics) from Wikipedia considers using social media? Is signing up for a Facebook or Twitter account, but never really using it, considered having used social media?
If yes, then OK, I can see the high numbers. But I know so many people who have signed up for social media sites, but never use them. Although, I do admit that they may use their accounts some day -- maybe after they retire?
I also agree that a lot more faculty use social media (especially Facebook) for personal reasons that for teaching or work. I think the difference is higher than the numbers indicated in this chart.
Anyway, I could be wrong in my skepticism, which is based on my own colleagues. And I think I will be wrong, eventually -- probably much sooner than later. My own guess is that these numbers will be more believable among my colleagues in about 2 to 3 years.
Until then, the infographic still makes for some interesting considerations....

E-portfolio means
What is a E-portfolio?
A portfolio is a collection of work developed across varied contexts over time. The portfolio can advance learning by providing students and/or faculty with a way to organize, archive and display pieces of work.
The electronic format allows faculty and other professionals to evaluate student portfolios using technology, which may include the Internet, video, and animation. Electronic portfolios are becoming a popular alternative to traditional paper-based portfolios because they offer practitioners and peers the opportunity to review, communicate and assess portfolios in an asynchronous manner.
Most people are familiar with student portfolios, however, higher education institutions are starting to create departmental and institutional portfolios as a means for evaluating student learning on a more global level. Institutional portfolios provide a means of assessing the impact of the entire educational experience on student learning. They can be used to drive internal improvement and external accountability. Like student portfolios, they allow for internal improvement and external accountability, but on the level of the whole institution.
Statistics as a platform in Education for Sustainable Development
"Statistics as a platform in Education for Sustainable Development...
Life is purely statistics, wherever you are there statistics is exist, most especially in Education, statistics will bind the system of Education. The concepts of a statistics is to teach the individual the proper way to perform the statistical procedures, which is necessarily to comprehend the variety of literatures, reports in journals, research papers, book and periodicals.
Statistics is a platform in Education for sustainable development, it's because commonly used as a statistics tools in research and hypothesis testing and etc. Statistics can determine if there is a significance or there is no significance, if it is effective or not effective, if useful or not useful, if positive or negative. It helps the goal of Education to be progressive and productive through the data and information being gathered using the different method to determine the results if it's attainable or unattainable. The blogging technology is an instrument to make one's life productive, competitive and efficient to this global world. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (art blog), photographs (photoblog), videos (video blogging), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Microblogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.

Integration of Education for Sustainable development
Journal Article
Abstract
This paper makes the case that Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) offers the field of early childhood a valuable base upon which to begin addressing some substantial contemporary concerns. In the paper, we outline key recent developments in the field of early childhood, particularly those related to globalisation and the spread of European American ideals. Yet ESD promotes the incorporation of local and indigenous understandings in formal education. We propose that, given; (i) broadening appreciation of the reality that early childhood education is characterised by diversity in early values and practices across sociocultural contexts, and; (ii) global interest in and commitment to early childhood education, the field is not only in need of, but also well-placed to adopt this key principle of ESD.
